Don’t order a care package... yet.
Most people rush it - and that's why it misses the mark.
If someone you care about is away from home, timing and intention matter more than stuffing a box.
What This Actually Is:
What is a pooka? Or a 'Rack Series'?
A Care Package Or Gift Box Sent From You to Your Sailor
Rather than spending hours getting a box, running around between stores, and putting everything together.We made it super easy and take all of the guesswork out of it for you;
While maintaining that sent from mom's kitchen counter feeling.
What Exactly Goes Inside Of The Care Package or Gift Box?
As a current submariner we know exactly what your husband/spouse/son/daughter will like AND use. And what they won't like or won't use. This will be a care package they remember every day and won't be able to stop talking about.
But What If This Is Just a Generic Box?
We're so much more than a "Generic Box" with features including photos that are printed inside, a letter written by YOU printed and included. Combined with our selection of items leads to that "How Did They Know To Send This?" feeling.
What Even Is a "Rack" Or a "Pooka" Anyways?
What exactly is a "Rack"? A "Rack" refers to where your sailor is sleeping. It's the only personal space they get and is usually just shy of 6 feet long by about 3 feet high. Almost all Racks include a pan underneath where you store your clothing mostly and any items of your choosing. This is why our Rack Series has it's name. Designed to fit inside of their personal space so they don't have to think twice about where to keep it!Okay but what is a "Pooka"? The name "Field Day Pooka" refers to the following: "Field Day" a navy term used to describe intense an intense cleaning period, usually about 3-4 hours in length or until they tell you to stop. A "Pooka" is a storage place in the framing.
Sometimes sailors will misbehave and they hide in the storage spaces to get out of cleaning. This leads us to the innuendo of "The Field Day Pooka": A Refuge in the fog of day to day monotony and a signal of hope when all seems lost!
Seem Confusing? Don't worry! Any sailor will instantly recognize the name and laugh at the innuendo we created!
